Great story, I have seen a number of sites get this kind of boost from using social networks or bookmarking sites in this way. The main measure though is how many of those visitors are from the niche that you are marketing to.

If the traffic dosent convert to business then its not very valuable. In fact its wasting bandwidth which is money.

Wow….that’s an incredible story. I can’t seem to conquer SU or Digg. The most I get is a few hundred uniques every once and a while from SU. This story send me back to the old drawing board with motivation though. Thanks for posting!

Ah, the digg / stumble effect. It’s funny because I’d have a friend get kicked off of two hosts in a row with his newly found increased traffic.

Lesson learned… if you want to make a habit out of getting great traffic from social media on a consistent basis, get yourself a dedicated server.
