Social Bookmarking Tools Review
Lately, I’ve been messing around with a lot of social bookmarking tools. My team and I have hit niche markets hard, both as affiliates and as product creators and it’s absolutely necessary to rank for key terms quickly. We’ve built probably 60 sites or so, each in different markets with different monetization methods…
You and I know that in order to succeed in Internet marketing, you’ve got to have traffic. Without traffic, any startup or project is a catastrophic fail.
So what I thought I’d do is talk a bit about why the idea of social bookmarking is awesome and then leave you with some social bookmarking tools you can test out.
Social Bookmarking Tools – Why They’re Important
As you probably know by now, social bookmarking is a very quick way to get tons and tons of backlinks to your site. High quality backlinks at that. Gone are the days that you need to send ‘reciprocal link requests’ to potential linking partners.
With social bookmarking, all you have to do is create an account on a social bookmarking service, enter in your URL, add some keywords and hit enter… +1 linkback.
The idea behind social bookmarking services was to make it easy for people to share their favorite stuff with their friends and to keep track of lots of bookmarks easily. And that’s a very noble cause.
What marketers quickly figured out was that those links, most of the time, got spidered by Google and a fair share of them are ‘dofollow’ so they give you some ‘linkjuice’ in the process. Meaning, Google awards you when it finds the link going to your site.
With social bookmarking tools, you can automate the process of linkbuilding on these social bookmarking sites, saving you both time and money!
The Problem With Manual Social Bookmarks
As with anything, there are drawbacks to social bookmarking. Especially when you’re doing it manually.
First of all, social bookmarking takes a ton of time. You have to create 50 or 100 social bookmarking accounts, then you have to verify all those emails, keep all those passwords straight and so on.
To submit a bookmark (aka. get a linkback) you’ve got to log in, fill in the form and hit submit..
Do that 100 times and you’ve shot the better part of a workday. Not cool.
The Darkside Of Social Bookmarking Tools
So great, social bookmarking tools is the way to go, right? Well, there are a couple things to consider first.
One darkside of social bookmarking tools is that you may think that it’s too spammy – creating hundreds of links to your site for the benefit of Google. And I’ll give you that. But we’re not really creating these bookmarks for anyone. Very few people, if anyone will ever see them… But they will see your ‘money site’ in the search engines BECAUSE of all the social bookmarks!
One other negative side to social bookmarking tools is that fact that my two favorites charge monthly for access.. They do that to keep the software updated… The social, web 2.0 scene is growing so fast and has so many updates to their sites that in order for the social bookmarking tools to consistently work – they have to be updated… In fact, the one piece of software that doesn’t have a monthly fee has terrible success rates!
Social Bookmarking Tools – A Review
I’ve tested and used 4 social bookmarking tools over the last 6 months and I’ve really settled on just one of them. You needs may be different, but here’s what I thought of them:
Miracle Traffic Bot – The Best Of The Social Bookmarking Tools
Miracle Traffic Bot is an interesting piece of software. First of all, the price is good (compared to SEnuke). Second of all, it works very well.
What Miracle Traffic Bot does is automate the social bookmarking process.
- Download the software to your computer
- Install it
- Add in your social bookmarking details like login and password
- Create your links.
The software does everything for you.
Also, Miracle Traffic Bot has does article marketing and and video marketing for you too. It really is a killer piece of software.
Now, there are other social bookmarking tools out there that submit to MORE sites, but I’ve found that the sites they submit to are of lesser quality and many of them have ‘nofollow’ tags – meaning you get no linkjuice. That’s a problem – especially when you’re paying $100′s a month for a software tool..
SEnuke
SEnuke is the grandmaster of the social bookmarking tools / linkgetting automation tools. There are a ton of features and it does a lot of really cool stuff.
The thing I like best about SEnuke is that it actually creates all your social bookmarking accounts for you, verifies the emails and starts submitting your links.
Like Miracle Traffic Bot, SEnuke does article marketing, video marketing and social hub-type marketing. It submits to more sites and Miracle Traffic Bot, but I don’t think it’s worth the $127 a month…

Bookmarking Demon
Bookmarking Demon is my least favorite out of the above social bookmarking tools, but might serve your purposes if you don’t want to pay a monthly fee to keep the software updated.
Frankly though – by not paying monthly for updates, the software kind of sucks! It isn’t updated nearly as well as it should be…
The good thing about Bookmarking Demon is that it submits to 100′s of sites and creates your profiles for you. So if you’re thinking of getting into social bookmarking, this might be the tool for you…

Synnd
Frankly, I’m new to Synnd. Synnd is a tool put out by by Social Media Science where you submit links and THEY go out and submit them to the social bookmarking sites, article sites and directories. I’ve had a lot of success with them so far but want to test them out more fully before I make a recommendation…
Social Bookmarking Tools – The Verdict
You’ve got a lot of things to think about if you want to get into getting linkbacks through bookmarking… When I first got into building niche sites and social bookmarking tools, I told myself that if I didn’t make my money back on the software within the first month, I’d cancel the subscription… And the one I made my money back with – Miracle Traffic Bot.
Using that same logic would be my advice to you. Choose a social bookmarking tool you want to test. Try to get to a point where you’re making money from it or getting awesome search rankings… Then continue using it! If it doesn’t work, cancel your subscription with the service and ask for a refund… Simple as that.
Social bookmarking works wonders though. I’ve got sites on the front page of Google for relatively competitive, high traffic terms after only two weeks using this stuff.. It rocks!
