Blogs started out as online journals/diary however you would like to put it. The first blogs started out on the web as a way for people to share their personal lives with others on the web and so on and so forth. Views, values, opinion are the foundation of any blogs success. Lately blogs aren’t simply seen as an online journal where people share their personal lives or talk about their Christmas shopping. Is there anything wrong with it if you are using it for that purpose? Absolutely not! But what if you have a business or even if you have thought about making money from blogging ( I can guarantee that out of 100 bloggers 90 would love to make money either directly or indirectly from their blogs)? There is nothing wrong with using blogs as a marketing tool.

There is a reason businesses and companies are diving into blogging. Do you seriously think they want to share what they ate and how many hours they slept last night? I doubt it. The main reason most companies have embraced blogging as a part of their business is because of its potential as a marketing tool. A blog can be used as a tool to market your products through product education and such. In coming years we will see this become more and more mainstream and “content marketing” will become one of the hottest and widely used form of marketing. Blogs of course will be the one to house these content which will serve as a marketing platform.

There are many reason why you should use blogs as a marketing tool,

Audience

With your blog you already have established your audience – your readers. If your blog attracts good traffic and has a lot of subscribers you already have a certain number of people you will be exposing your service or product to. It provides a sense of attachment to the consumers ( readers ) since they know you as a blogger and have been connecting with you personally by means of comments. So, your service or product already has potential customers lined up for you.

Spokesperson

If I have a product to sell , I wouldn’t want anybody but me to speak about it. This is another benefit of having a blog as it is your media and you are the spokesperson. The readers you have been connecting to through your posts and articles will be willing to listen to what you have to offer. They like what you write, how you express. So when you speak about your product or service to them through your blog, it’s most likely that they will get more information about it from you than anybody else.

Target Market

When you started your very own blog, you probably didn’t think of a targeted market unless your blog has a certain niche it is build upon. But as you keep blogging you will see you have gained readers ( customers ) from a certain demographics. This allows you to instantly have a targeted market ready for your service. But again, if you blog about computers and programming , don’t go selling John Deer tractors, that certainly won’t work.

Product or Service

When you write about your product or service you will write it inside out because there is nobody else who knows it better than you. You are the one who is offering the service and or product and there is certainly no one better than you to explain why it is good for them. You will be passionate when you talk about it. This will connect the readers to you as they feel its genuine and as long as you want them coming back both as a reader and a customer, BE GENUINE.

Trust Factor

You probably have built a personal relationship with most of your readers. They know you through your posts and you know them through their comments or their blogs and in some cases personally. If you know you readers personally it’s a win win situation. If they are somebody who knows you and knows what you provide and do are beneficial to them, don’t you think they would offer you the money rather than somebody else? You bet they will.

While we are talking about using blogs as a marketing tool I would like to quick plug in our new project that has been quite successful,

If I still wasn’t able to convince you, please rip me apart with your questions in the comments section and lets talk. Your question can be in regards to using blogs as a marketing tool or our new project. You can also find information on MH Pro here.
